Covid 19 Update

A chaplain on the towpath speaking with a boater

You will be reassured to know that the work of the Waterways Chaplains is continuing and we can arrange to come and see you outdoors and with PPE. The work and ministry of Waterways Chaplains at this time is especially important for those who are still isolated and challenged by this crisis. Please don’t suffer alone, we can always chat with you on the phone if that helps.

“We have been able to help a number of boaters with food parcels and check up on others to see how they are doing. I was able to go and get some medication for a boater who couldn’t leave their boat.”

Please contact us through this website on the Contact Us page or call your local Chaplain if you know their number. We aim to respond within 48 hours or less.

….Coming alongside you

We aim to:

  • Be a listener
  • Be a contact if you are feeling alone
  • Pray with you if you ask
  • Help and/or signpost you to agencies that may be able to assist

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble” Psalm 46:1

Waterways Chaplains do not see their activity as a social activity but an essential ministry established by God to show his love and care for others. As they walk the towpath they are supported by the prayers of other chaplains and many Christians. Fundamentally it is in God that we trust.
