The Christian ministry of a volunteer Waterways Chaplain is to be pastorally proactive and spiritually reactive. Weekly, we go out on the canals and waterways of England & Wales. We are a presence that can be seen, backed up by our reputation.
We come alongside those we meet when invited to do so. As part of this, we work to build up relationships and be part of the lives of all those we meet, even if it is for a short time.
Having a network of Waterways Chaplains means that as boats move on, they may be helped by another Chaplain along a different waterway.
"Act justly, love mercy, walk humbly with your God."
Micah 6:8

Chaplains share in the good and bad times and are supportive and encouraging of all, regardless of religion, orientation or race. We support people of all faiths and none and are happy to discuss spiritual and practical matters if invited to do so.

This has been particularly sparked by realising I am slowly approaching retirement, which I don't wish to view as a "vacation", but rather a setting in which I can continue to be hands and face for Jesus..."
