WWC Tina Clark took a service to dedicate a carved swan in memory of a local couple who lived in the village of South Kyme, Lincs. The sculpture was paid for by donations by villagers. The money also paid for four carved mooring post sculptures along the tow path running through the village.
About 50 people attended the dedication which was based on a Celtic prayer service to our creator God. From the fund raising for the sculpture, which came from an idea Tina had, consultation has gone out to see if there is a need to upgrade and extend a towpath to make a grassy rutted track into a path accessible to all.
The hope is that this will become one of the district councils’ stepping out walks, a health walk, and that Tina can also be more inclusive with her towpath pilgrimages – A prayerful walk along the towpath resulting in a Celtic prayer service in the church yard.
