This summer, the Waterways Chaplaincy profile was raised significantly at several Christian festivals. WWC stands at the Big Church Day Out, Keswick Conference and Greenbelt attracted much interest with some 700 serious conversations about the work and ministry of the Chaplaincy.
Those manning the stands were encouraged by the breadth of churchmanship and ecumenical spread of those with whom we engaged. Hopefully many of those conversations will result in increased prayer, support and maybe new applicants from the many parts of the country where demand for Waterways Chaplains exceeds the number of volunteers available.
